Major Project - Belmont Timber
I visited Belmont Timber to further my understanding of long span portal frame buildings.
This image depicts the intersection point between a new building and an exciting building. Although it may be hard to see but you can see the different method of bracing to the building on the left compared to the new building on the right.
This image shows how the purlins connect to the rafter via cleats. Note the diagonal bracing on some of the purlins.
This shows the knee joint of the portal frame using haunching.

Major Project - Meeting with Draftsman and Engineer
I went and had a chat with Rob Harrington about gettin some drawings as well as an idea of how the process's of the building take place he was able to supply me with two sections and also helped me get into contact with the other trades resposable for building the project.
This section is of a portal frame building using tilt panels as cladding the span of the building is 26m and it uses a box gutter.
